If you are a crowdfunding organizer raising money on behalf of others, the money may not be included in the organizer’s gross income as long as the organizer gives the money to the person for whom they organized the crowdfunding campaign.
Are you the organizer? Did you raise money on behalf of others? If you gave them the money it’s not included in your income. If you didn’t give them the money you may have to pay taxes on the money. If people donate out of generosity and expect nothing in return, the donations are gifts and are not taxable to the recipient. But if the people get something in return it may be taxable to the recipient.
If an employer gives to a crowdfunding campaign for an employee, those donations are taxable to the employee and include it in their gross income.
