Please be informed all platforms are required to issue Form 1099-K for Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, etc., and for sales generated via Etsy, Amazon, eBay, etc, that are in excess of $5000 for the calendar year, starting in 2024.
To our knowledge, people-to-people payments may have an exemption in future legislation. But the platforms might ignore this exemption as it would require them to determine who is and is not a business. If you get a Form 1099-K, we must put it on the return and back out any non-business payments.
Do not ignore the form. Include it with your tax data.
